WE SHALL GIVE BACK

Every student from Stage 1 to Grade 12 is involved in the Reddam Gives Back Programme, whereby each class chooses a project or charity in the wider community and facilitates the needs of their chosen programme during the year. These may include collecting Easter eggs, preparing Shoe Boxes at the end of the year and supporting more personal programmes. Students are encouraged to give of their time and talents in a personal capacity as well. Where possible, the students are encouraged to visit the respective charities when items have been brought to school.

INITIATIVE: #KNYSNAFIRE

Reddam House Waterfall extends our sincere condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and homes in the devastating Knysna fires.  Our students and parents have come together to collect bottled water, blankets, diapers and food items for those affected by the fires. All collected items will be delivered to DHL's drop off point in Peter Place Bryanston, where DHL has generously offered to transport the collected items to the affected areas in Knysna.

Thank you to DHL and to all our students and parents for your generosity and kindness. We will continue to keep all those affected by the Knysna fires in our thoughts.

MARKET DAY - Reddam House Waterfall Preparatory School

This year the Reddam House Waterfall Grade 6's Market Day was a huge success. Market day is an event where Grade 6 students set up food and other various fun stalls to raise money. Half of the money raised went to the Grade 6 farewell, which is an event that occurs at the end of the year to bid the Grade 6s farewell. The rest of the money is donated by the Outreach Committee to a selected charity. This year the money was donated to an animal shelter known as Paws Are Us. They donated R10 000 this year.

REDDAM HOUSE WATERFALL GIVES BACK THROUGH THE INTERACT INITIATIVE

Interact consists of a group of students who want to make a difference in other people’s lives. They are responsible for many of the charity drives that take place at Reddam House Waterfall. Interact is run by a group of elected board members who oversee all of the group’s activities. In 2017, Interact successfully hosted the CANSA sprayathon in which they raised over R18 000 for the CANSA foundation. Reddam students could be seen walking around with all sorts of fun designs and colours in their hair. The Interact group has also committed to helping tutor students from disadvantaged communities on Saturday mornings, in Mathematics and English. They also provide these students with a healthy lunch to ensure that they are properly fed. Interact assisted in hosting an Easter egg hunt for these students and they spent quality time just getting to know the students and having fun with them. Other events include Slipper Day (Reach for a Dream), a movie afternoon/party for orphaned children and more Saturday tutoring sessions.

INTER-REDDAM SLEEPOUT

Reddam House College Waterfall has been challenged by Reddam House College Bedfordview to a Sleepout. Once we reach 300 items of Nan or Baby Cereal, Mrs. Noonan will have to sleep under the stars, not in a tent or sleeping bag but on a piece of cardboard. For every 150 items there after a teacher will then be nominated to join her.

Here's to a successful Inter-Reddam SleepOut.
We are so proud of all our College students who gave back like only Reddam House Waterfall students can. Thank you Reddam House Bedfordview for hosting this memorable evening.
